Laville Frames, Inc. Family Owned Since 1993 Our History: It all started with Mrs. Laville (Thomas' mother). She began by making Christmas ornaments from reclaimed wood. At age 11, Thomas and his brother were the 2 primary cutters in the garage factory of this cottage business, but a few years later Mom put the tools and patterns away. However a slow job market, creativity, and love of sawdust led Thomas to reestablish the business after college. In 1991 Thomas cleaned off the saw and began creating and selling new products to local gift shops- with a focus shifted from ornaments to picture frames. In 1992 Thomas Laville established a company in which he handmade picture frames from lumber that was recycled from old buildings around his native state, Louisiana. Laville products are inspired by the unique architecture of New Orleans and southern Louisiana and fashioned from tide-water cypress and/or heart pine. Today the line has grown, but the story is the same. We at Laville Frames continue to make our frames by hand in Louisiana. Each piece is handmade from recycled lumber in one-of-a-kind colors and textures that illustrate the history and lifestyle in the South. Laville Frames, Inc. is the original nation-wide manufacturer of picture frames using recycled, reclaimed lumber and our line is distinguishable from competing products. By concentrating on the functional aspects of design, Laville Frames has set a distinct identity- an authentic product that has been received with great success.
